Tontiin is a mobile app that digitizes the tontine, the traditional African rotating savings group (also called njangi, ROSCA or susu). We replace cash and spreadsheets with automatic payouts, a transparent ledger, and tools for personal savings, credit and payments.

Tontiin is currently live in Cameroon, with expansion to more African markets underway. The app supports Mobile Money operators including Orange Money and MTN MoMo.

Tontiin is for anyone who saves in groups, market traders, salaried workers, diaspora members, families and friends. It's also built for small business owners who need payroll or group collections.

Download the Tontiin app on iOS or Android, create an account with your phone number, verify your identity, and you can create or join a savings group in minutes.

You create a group, set the contribution amount and schedule, and invite trusted members. Each cycle, everyone contributes and one member receives the full pot. Payouts rotate until every member has received once, then the cycle restarts.

Groups can have from 2 to 50 members. We recommend 4–12 members for the smoothest experience.

The app sends automatic reminders before deadlines. Group admins are notified of missed payments and can manage the situation in the app. Tontiin does not cover missed contributions, the group's own rules apply.

Yes. Tontiin also offers personal savings accounts with custom goals and automatic deposits, plus a high-interest option to grow your money over time.

Tontiin supports Orange Money, MTN MoMo, and bank transfers. More payment methods are being added continuously.

Basic group contributions and payouts are free. Small fees apply for instant withdrawals and cross-border transfers. All fees are shown clearly in the app before you confirm.

Mobile Money withdrawals are processed instantly. Bank transfers typically take 1–2 business days.

Yes. Funds are safeguarded in regulated accounts separate from operational funds. Tontiin is regulated by COBAC (the Central African Banking Commission) and follows strict financial safeguarding rules.

Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit using AES-256 and TLS 1.3. We do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Identity verification (KYC) is required by financial regulations to prevent fraud and money laundering. It also unlocks higher transaction limits and the full range of Tontiin features.

You can request account closure in the app under Settings → Account → Close account. Any active group memberships or pending payouts must be resolved first.
